Hey there! I’m still here, I’ve just been super busy. Between work and home and MOPS and potty training (don’t even go there), time to blog has been zero.
Have a great weekend and I’ll be back with you soon!P.S. And no, I haven’t been eating those football donuts!

Three things this Monday
Three things to talk about today -
1. I lost 2 pounds this week!
2. The potty training is not going well. Buzz Lightyear undies did not motivate Brady to pee in the potty! Pray for us!
3. Loved this!

Oh wait, #4. Pray for the people of Texas and Louisana. So much tragedy there the past few weeks.

Adventures in Potty Training
I’ll be the first to tell you, Brady’s been a relatively easy child. In the great scheme of things, he’s been a breeze. No problems sleeping, no problems when he started eating baby food or real food, took to a milk at age 1 without a fuss, no sippy cup issues. Even his binky wasn’t a big deal. He stopped using it during the day when he was 1 and quit using it at naps/bedtime at age 3 (and that was really because I let him use it that long). He’s been in day care since he was 4 months old (I can hear the gasps now) and other than your normal separation anxiety, he’s always adjusted well to new people and new situations. But potty training – this is a whole new ballgame.
Maybe it’s my fault. I didn’t even start until his 3rd birthday. He just wasn’t interested and I didn’t want it to drag out over a year because he wasn’t ready. Well, I’m ready and he’s been showing signs of readiness, so we’re hitting the potty training hard. At least we’re trying. He has yet to pee in the potty once! I know he can pee. Why can’t he do it in the potty? His teacher at school reassures me this is normal and some kids just take their time.
Last night we (well, he) sat on the potty for 20 minutes. He was reading books and quite content. No peeing. So I put underwear on him for the first time and sent him into the living room. I walked back to our bedroom (it’s not a big house, so it wasn’t that far) and I hear “Mommy, I’m wet!” WHY COULDN’T HE HAVE DONE THAT DURING THE 20 MINUTES HE WAS SITTING ON THE POTTY????? No, I didn’t yell at him, don’t worry. But I did quickly move him to the bathroom and explain that we do that in the potty.
I know he won’t go to high school or college in diapers, but my goodness, this is frustrating! Please send me some “happy potty thoughts!”
Have a great weekend!

Verse of the Day
Someone shared this verse with me last night and even though I've read it a million times, I love hearing it again. I thought I'd share it with you today!
"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6-8
As women, it seems like we're hardwired to worry. I know I am! But this verse tells us not to worry, to turn all of our worries over to God and He will give us the peace we need to make it through the day!
Happy Wednesday!

Day 2
Today’s my second official day on Weight Watchers! Yesterday went fairly well. I think I went over by 2 points. Dinners are hard because my family wants to eat normally! I may have to start fixing something different for myself for a while until I figure this out. I’m drinking a lot of water, too, so that has me running back and forth to the bathroom. I feel like I’m 9 months pregnant again!
I can do this!

It's a Monday
Happy Monday! After this weekend, I’m pretty glad to be back at work. I’ll spare you the gory details.
And yes, my DH is mourning this:

Tom Brady possibly (probably) being out for the rest of the year. This could be a very long season at my house.
Today is my first official day on Weight Watchers. I did it briefly a number of years ago and saw success, so it’s time to try again. I need to lose about 15 pounds and I’m hoping this will help me get to that goal. I’m also getting ready to join the YMCA (they’re having a membership special this month), so I’m really excited about that, too. The combination of these two things should definitely help me get in shape and start feeling good about myself again. It’s time to buy those fall clothes!
Has anyone else had any luck with WW?

Football Friday
We all know that college football started last weekend. While I’m a big fan of the Ole Miss Rebels, it’s pro football that reigns in our house. Since my child is named Brady, you should be able to tell that my DH is a big fan of the New England Patriots. Their first game is Sunday. In honor of this occasion, I’m getting myself this cup from Swoozies:

Have a fantastic weekend!

Awanas and Candy Corn

Last night was our kick off meeting for Awanas at church. Brady was a Puggle last year and this year he moves up to the Cubbies. He loved Puggles and still remembers some of the things he learned. While I would love to say last night went so well, it did not. At least not for Brady. Apparently moving upstairs to a new room was more than an adjustment than I had realized. Or maybe he was just super tired. I don’t know. But he did not want anything to do with his new room, his new teachers, nothing. Thankfully it wasn’t a regular evening and all the parents stayed, so he calmed down a little bit and got busy playing with his friends. I was so shocked, though. He never throws fits like that at church. Oh well!
Awanas really is a great program for teaching kids about the love of God. DH helps with the Sparks (Kindergarten-2nd Grade) and I’m helping with the T&T Boys (3rd Grade – 5th Grade). This is my first year helping out, so I’m interested to see how it goes. The kids have books and learn verses each week. They have story time, craft time and all sorts of other things. They really enjoy it and the volunteers do, too!
I’m still finishing up my fall decorations. Whenever the camera gets fixed, I can post some pictures! That would make my blog much more interesting! I am getting ready to do this idea as soon as candy corn comes out in the stores. I have three glass hurricanes, one large and two small, on my mantle. I’m going to fill one with candy corn, one with candy corn pumpkins, and the large one I’m not sure about yet. Any suggestions?

What day is it?
Happy Tuesday! It is Tuesday, right? I hate these holidays that fall on Mondays, throwing off the rest of the week. At least we’re already one day towards the weekend, though!
I got most of my fall decorations put up over the weekend. I still need to find some mums for the porches.
Saturday we went to the NC Apple Festival. It was hot and crowded, but we still had a good time. Brady had fun, so that’s what mattered.
Brady was a little under the weather yesterday and so was I, so we stayed in all day. DH did a lot of yard work and got things in order. We also watched lots of hurricane coverage. Thank God that New Orleans was spared for the most part. Now we’re watching Hanna, which is supposedly heading our way. Lots of prayers going up for everyone!
In honor of fall, here’s a lovely scene for us all to enjoy! Now if we think really hard, we can almost feel the cool temperatures!
