Brady's Birthday Party
Brady turns 6 this Thursday, but we had his party this past Saturday at the YMCA pool. We had it there last year as well and had a wonderful experience. This year - not so much. The party was still a success and the kids had a ball and that's all that matters!
He wanted a Super Mario theme, so I decided to do cupcakes with Super Mario cupcake toppers.
They were so cute! I wanted the party to be very bright and colorful, yet still simple since Beckett is only 12 weeks old and I didn't have a lot of extra time this year. We had the party from 1pm to 3pm and served cupcakes, animal crackers and cheese puffs in silver buckets from the Target $1 section.

The kids got to swim for an hour, then hit the party room. Brady is such a fish!

We have amazing friends and we're so blessed that they came to celebrate with our sweet boy. I can't believe he's 6 years old. Time truly does fly. We love you, Brady!

Last Day of School
Today is Brady's last day of Kindergarten. Where did the year go? It seems like we just took the pictures of him wearing his backpack for the first time, standing in front of the house, ready to go to school. Sniff! Sniff!
We started the day with Brady's favorite orange breakfast rolls and I'm sure we'll find something special to do tonight. Ice cream anyone?
Last night we made little treats for his teacher and her assistant. These are super easy and I found them on Skip To My Lou.

Download the template, fill in your child's name, cut it out, glue it to a popsicle stick and you're done! Next year I'll try something a little more involved, but this was perfect for our current busy life. I hope they enjoy it!And just because they're cute................

Take Me Out to the Ball Game
James and Brady went out with our neighbors to see the Greenville Drive play last night. Summer has arrived early in the Upstate and I think the temperature was about 95F for the opening pitch. Beckett and I stayed home because he's had a virus, but I wasn't too disappointed about being in the nice, cool air conditioning while they were out sweating! I did miss the ballpark food and people watching. The Drive lost, but the boys had a blast!

Where Have I Been?
I haven't posted here since December! A lot has happened in the last 5 months, but this pretty much sums it up:
Beckett Hudson joined us on March 14th, weighing in at 9lbs, 4oz and 20" long. He's my Chunky Monkey! It's been an adjustment, but he's truly made our family complete.

Beckett is 11 weeks old now and I've been back at work for a week. Things are going pretty smoothly so far. Look at that precious smile!
Talk to you soon!

Every morning he has to give him a kiss before going to school, leaving a trail of Pop Tart crumbs on his head in the process. Every afternoon when I pick him up, the first thing he asks is "Where's Beckett?" I pray their relationship grows strong as they grow up and that they really appreciate each other.

Making my list and checking it twice
Christmas Eve is a week from tomorrow! Have you finished your Christmas shopping? I have! I have! I'm just waiting on a couple of things to be delivered to my doorstep so I can wrap them and send them off, but that's it.
I've learned that Christmas with a 5 year old is so much fun! He's counting down the days and is so excited to see what Santa will leave under the tree. Here are a few of the things at the top of his list............

Hot Wheels Criss Cross Crash - This is funny because he's never been a boy big into cars, but he's been begging for this! In fact, I heard him tell a friend today "I'm getting Criss Cross Crash for Christmas!"
Imaginext Air Craft Carrier - We've had a number of Imaginext toys before and they've always been wonderful, so I expect nothing less of this one.
Despicable Me DVD - We saw this in the theater and I honestly thought it was better than Toy Story 3. Brady thought so, too. :)

Star Wars Lego book - Brady has checked this out from the library numerous times and I think he would be completely crushed if Santa didn't bring it. Good thing Santa bought it weeks ago!

My Little Basketball Player
Brady started playing basketball this year and his first game was this past Saturday. He loves it! It's so funny to watch all of these little kids (4 and 5 year olds) play. We have some awesome kids on our team, too. I know a lot of you are baseball fans and I like baseball, but I love basketball! It's so much more interesting to watch. Maybe it's because I grew up in Durham, North Carolina, and was raised a huge Duke Blue Devils fan. We love our basketball in Durham!
Isn't he cute?????
